There are a few different methods and tools you can use to find your septic tank when it comes time for an inspection. If you have a basement, you can follow your sewer line until it exits through the wall to find your septic tank. If you don’t, look for the roof vent; your tank should be straight ahead of it. You can also use a shovel and a tile probe to find your tank. When you have narrowed down your search, use the tiled probe to stick through the soil until it hits the top of the septic tank, and then dig up the lid.
